Novitec Rosso Supercharges Ferrari 599 SA Aperta

Ferrari built just 80 copies of the 599 SA Aperta, which makes the roadster a pretty special car. But for owners who want the car to feel still more special, Novitec Rosso has a new tuning kit for the SA Aperta.

The conversion begins by bolting two superchargers to the Ferrari’s 6.0-liter V-12 engine. Novitec Rosso also adds a new intake manifold, larger fuel injectors, new exhaust manifolds, and a reprogrammed engine computer. The result is 888 hp at 8400 rpm and 636 lb-ft of torque at 6600 rpm, which Novitec Rosso says is enough to launch the SA Aperta to 124 mph in just 9.1 seconds, and toward a top speed of 211 mph.
As to style, the tuning group added special lightweight wheels. The fronts measure 21 inches and weigh just 23 pounds, while the rear 22-inch wheels weigh 30 pounds — which is comparatively light for such large-diameter rolling stock. The SA Aperta also benefits from Novitec Rosso springs that lower its ride height by 1.6 inches. Finally, the car gets new a carbon-fiber splitter, rear fascia, and side skirts, as along with black-tinted tail- and foglights.

Ah - 2012! here at last!

Its been a while since I last posted, injuries, illness and general busyness are my excuses!

Training-wise, I managed a few slideboard sessions and a couple of longish rides on the bike (25 & 28 Miles) which felt good and kept away most of the seasonal sins!

I've also started to plan my year training, hard at the moment as I haven't decided on what races I'm attending, when they even are and because this year I am racing on the bike too!

I've been reading up on the Road licences - Basically as a newbie i'll start in Cat 4, which leaves me the task of acquiring between 10 & 40 points to qualify for a Cat 3 lincense next season! That shouldn't be too hard, 1 win in a Cat 4 race would get me 10 points, so I will be aiming for top 10's/5's to grab those precious points... I now just have to find some races to race! :)

Heffner Performance Lamborghini Murcielago Twin-Turbo

Heffner Performance has increased the already powerful Lamborghini Murcielago by customizing the engine bay with a twin turbo setup. After all the car tuning was performed, the new Lamborghini Murcielago produces 1100 hp at the rear wheels when boosting 14.5 psi. It has great track results for the 60-130 mph time at a mere 5.1 seconds, but Heffner Performance did not mention the 0-60 mph time. We’re guesing it’s due to traction issues, considering it doesn’t have all-wheel-drive to keep the wheels on the pavement. They are not finished with the car yet, however, they believe some extra tuning and tweaking could produce hidden power. The guys from Heffner have completed some impressive work on a Ford GT in the past, and now this Lamborghini Murcielago Twin-Turbo has received some fine tuning.
